Seaside Shopping & Entertainment
Just steps from VITA Hotel, you’ll find two of Malta’s most dynamic retail destinations: Mercury Towers and Bay Street Shopping Complex. Both of these exceptional hubs offer a blend of international brands and local boutiques, while more variety awaits at The Point Shopping Mall. This Sliema staple can be easily reached via a short bus ride, taxi, or an invigorating stroll along the promenade a few metres away from us.
Sun, Sand & Sea
No trip to Malta is complete without a day (or three) by the water. St George’s Bay, just around the corner, offers a small sandy beach perfect for a quick dip. Beyond St Julian’s, the island is full of breathtaking coastlines - from the warm sands of Għadira Bay, to the crystal-clear, rocky shores of St Peter’s Pool. Whether you're sunbathing, snorkelling, or simply soaking up the Mediterranean views, there's a beach to match your mood.
Entertainment Around the Corner
Looking for fun beyond the beach? Just minutes from VITA Hotel, you’ll find Eden SuperBowl, Malta’s only ten-pin bowling alley - a great spot for couples, friends, or families looking to enjoy some friendly competition. Right next door is Eden Cinemas, the island’s most popular cinema complex, showing the latest blockbusters and international films in comfort.
Hop Over to Valletta
History lovers and fans of architecture will fall in love with Malta’s grand capital, Valletta. Just a short ferry ride from nearby Sliema or a quick bus route, Valletta is a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with palaces of splendour, baroque churches, museums, and theatres. Wander the historic streets, take in panoramic harbour views, and experience the magic of a city where every corner tells a fascinating story.
Mdina by Day and Night
Step into a time capsule with a visit to Mdina, Malta’s ancient walled city. Quiet, timeless, and brimming with charm, Mdina feels like a film set… in fact, it’s featured in many! By day, you can meander through quaint alleys, marvel at the cathedral, and take in sweeping views from the city’s hilltop bastions. By night, you can experience the lantern-lit streets which create an atmosphere like none other. From VITA Hotel, you can reach Mdina by taking bus route 202, which departs from right round the corner and travels directly to Rabat, outside Mdina’s main gate.
Catch the Ferry to Gozo
Malta’s quieter sister island is just a ferry ride away, and well worth the journey. The ferry ride itself offers an intimate encounter with the Mediterranean Sea, and you’ll want to keep an eye out for flying fish or even dolphins aboard the vessel. Known for its green countryside, scenic villages, and relaxed pace of life, Gozo delivers a completely different Maltese experience. The Citadel in Victoria takes medieval sightseeing to new heights, while Ramla Beach promises azure waters which collide with terracotta red sand. To get to the Ċirkewwa Ferry Terminal, hop on bus route 222, which runs from St Julian’s straight to the ferry port at Malta’s northern tip.
Take a Stroll Through San Anton Gardens
Located within the President’s Palace, San Anton Gardens offer a peaceful escape filled with fountains, pathways, and beautifully landscaped flora and fauna. Peacocks strut about the gardens, while the local cat colony keeps a watchful eye on the grounds. You might also recognise the Gardens from its numerous cameos in Game of Thrones! Ideal for a relaxed stroll or a shady pause between sightseeing stops, it’s a hidden gem in Malta’s central village of Ħ’Attard.
Local Transport Made Easy
From VITA Hotel, you're just minutes away from multiple bus stops that connect you to the island’s top attractions. For extra comfort and convenience, Malta is also well-served by ride-hailing apps such as Bolt, eCabs, and Uber, allowing you to get around with just a few taps.
A Taste of the Island
Malta’s flavours are just as rich as its history. As you explore, don’t miss the chance to sample the local street food, namely pastizzi (flaky pastries filled with ricotta or peas), ftajjar (Maltese sourdough flatbread with Mediterranean fillings), and imqaret (deep-fried date pastries). Usually acquired from a hole-in-the-wall, Malta’s street food scene is full of delicious and decadent surprises.
